A weekend in Weymouth
The Seaside Heritage Network are delighted to collaborate with Weymouth Museum to explore and celebrate Weymouth's seaside heritage. The events were held as part of the opening of Weymouth's Pop Up Museum on Saturday, 28th June, 2025.
Weymouth was the seaside resort chosen by George III to regain his health at the end of the 18th century, and the town still boasts a rich heritage of Georgian seaside architecture, as well as a lively harbour. Seaside Heritage Network's Allan Brodie led a gentle walk through 300 years of the town's colourful history, which included an exclusive preview of the new Pop Up Museum. In the evening, Allan delivered an informative and entertaining public talk which considered the transformation of Weymouth as a seaside resort: From a King to commoners.
