Seaside resorts have been associated with 'taking the waters' since the 1700s, but not everyone wants a dip in the sea. In this seminar, we explored the exciting structures that have graced our coastline to facilitate swimming at the seaside. We're joined by Chris Romer-Lee, architect and director of Studio Octopi who is also a co-founder of Future Lidos and author of 'Sea Pools', Dr Kathryn Ferry who provides a whistle-stop tour of 20th-century pools and leisure centres at the seaside, and David Dawson, Secretary of Save Grange Lido, outlining updates on the restoration of this iconic seaside lido.
